Wear- and fracture-resistant steel strip and wire profiles

From a simple plane-parallel profile to a polygonal complex profile: we are constantly adding more geometric profiles to the 250 already available. These are, of course, always optimally tailored to the requirements of customers’ end products. From the raw material to the finished profile, we manufacture profiles using a process of several individual steps comprising a combination of heat treatment and profile rolling.

We have our own profile tool grinding shop, which performs a precision calibration of the rolls for profile and flat rolling. Modern measuring techniques and quick control technology make the tightest width and thickness tolerances possible, even at the fastest rolling speeds. Steel strip profiles and shaped wire from Waelzholz also work brilliantly in an array of other applications. It is used to fabricate the fastening element in engine and transmission construction, the push belt in continuous variable transmission systems, as card clothing wire and as rollers or bushings for roller chains. We have the optimal solution for every application and every product.

The diversity of these profiles and applications can already be seen in the wide array of materials used in profile production. We use DC grades, spring steels, case-hardening steels and steels for hardening and tempering. Each grade displays its own unique properties.
